Dropdowns can be used in menus, to show sublinks. But the dropdown panel can also contain other things, like e.g. text, images, videos, tables etc. The left one of these two buttons has the panel aligned with the left side, which is the default, and the right one has it aligned with the right side, which can be useful if it is the last menu button in a navbar.
